PREP FOOTBALL

BRUNSWICK, Md. —  Brunswick’s defense got its first shutout of the season and its offense ran more than 100 plays as the Railroaders beat Williamsport 40-0 on Friday.

Brunswick’s defense held Williamsport to 83 total yards. David Moore had two interceptions, and Shane Gerstner also picked off a pass.

The Railroaders (4-3, 2-1 MVAL Antietam) also recovered two onside kicks, putting the ball back into the hands of an offense that ran 107 plays.

Joey Conrad had touchdown runs of 1 and 5 yards, and Moore scored on a 12-yard run.

Quarterback Collin Nusbaum threw two touchdown passes to Jake Struss and one to Blaine Price.

T.J. Boyer had an interception and B.J. Savage had a fumble recovery for the Wildcats (0-7, 0-4).

Hancock 34, Hundred 6

HUNDRED, W.Va. — Jordan Keefer carried 16 times for 234 yards and a touchdown as Hancock sent Hundred to its 18th straight loss.

Jesse Wolford threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score for the Panthers (2-5).

Shippensburg 36, Greencastle 17

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — William Burt ran for 203 yards and three touchdowns and Ty Kater ran for 153 yards and a pair of TDs as Shippensburg improved to 6-1 with the victory over Greencastle-Antrim.

The Greyhounds led 15-11 at the end of the first quarter and 29-17 at halftime.

Austin Scott was 8 of 16 passing for 159 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Szaflarski, for the Blue Devils (2-5). Scott also had a 6-yard TD run and a two-point conversion run, Szaflarski ran for a team-high 56 yards on seven carries and Luke Bitner kicked a 24-yard field goal for Greencastle.

Northern 45, Waynesboro 7

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Northern York (6-1) scored 31 points in the second quarter on its way to a 45-0 halftime lead and cruised past Waynesboro.

The Indians (2-5) got on the scoreboard late in the fourth quarter on a 16-yard touchdown pass by Nathan Toney.

PAW PAW, W.Va. — Alisa Shives had seven kills, 12 assists, 12 service points and five aces for Hancock in its 17-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-14 victory over Paw Paw.

Sara Wagner had eight kills and Kara McKinley had five kills, 13 assists, 10 service points and two aces for the Panthers (6-5).

JV: Hancock, 2-0.

Mount Airy 3, Grace Academy 1

Allie Cox had seven kills, eight digs, 10 service points and four aces for Grace Academy in a 13-25, 25-10, 25-21, 25-17 loss to Mount Airy.

Heather Groves had six kills, Caitlin Cox had six kills, seven digs and three aces, Jess Gladhill had seven digs and Valerie Cole had 15 assists and eight digs for the Knights.


GIRLS SOCCER

Smithsburg 2, North 1

Erika Miller and Sarah Duckworth each scored a goal as Smithsburg edged North Hagerstown in overtime in the MVAL Antietam.

Caitlyn Fauntleroy and Dominique DiLandro each had an assist and Corinne Burk had four saves for the Leopards (6-2-2, 3-0-2).

The Hubs fell to 1-9-1 (1-4-1).

JV: North, 1-0.

Greencastle 1, Boiling Springs 0

BOILING SPRINGS, Pa. — Jane Herman scored the game’s lone goal in the 49th minute as Greencastle defeated Boiling Springs to capture its first Mid-Penn Colonial Division title Thursday.

Kayleigh Smith had three saves in the first half and Nadajah Vickers had four saves in the second half in the shutout for the Blue Devils (14-2).


BOYS SOCCER

Brunswick 7, Boonsboro 3

BRUNSWICK, Md. — The Warriors’ Connor Prunty scored twice and had an assist against MVAL Antietam leader Brunswick on Thursday.

Eric Brabson had a goal and an assist and keeper Greg Fiola made eight saves for Boonsboro (4-7, 2-4 MVAL).

Brunswick leads the Antietam with a 6-0 conference record.

Southern Fulton 6, Berlin Brothersvalley 2

BERLIN, Pa. — Southern Fulton picked up its second win of the season, going on a scoring blitz against Berlin on Thursday.

Mason Bard scored twice and added an assist for the Indians (2-9) and Taylor Bohrer, Shad Gordon, Tyler Richards and Josh Voight each had a goal.

Osman Ramizov had two assists and Chucky Kipe had four saves in the shutout for the Hawks (10-6, 6-4).

Elise Manning had 14 kills and nine blocks to lead Hagerstown Community College in a 25-8, 25-18, 25-12 Maryland JuCo Conference sweep of Baltimore.

Kelsey Koontz had seven kills, Victoria Broadwater had seven kills and 13 digs and Summer Neff had 37 assists for the Hawks (14-3, 7-1).
