FREDERICK, Md. — Matt Suddith and Brad Coblentz scored two goals each as Hagerstown shut out Frederick in the Maryland JuCo conference.

Mamadou Jallow and Fourkoko Chaw each had a goal and an assist, Genc Sopa, Osman Ramizov, Bobby Matusek and Clayton Layman each had an assist, Chucky Kipe had three saves and Fredy Velasquez had one save for the Hawks (12-6, 7-4).

Charleston 6, Shepherd 0

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — David Leonard had six saves and Alex Aleshire had five saves for Shepherd University (5-8-1, 3-4-0) in a WVIAC loss to No. 12 University of Charleston (9-1-3, 6-0-0).


WOMEN’S SOCCER

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Kylie Duffin scored the game-winning goal on an assist by Taylor Amsley as Shepherd rallied past University of Charleston (6-8-2, 4-3-1) in the WVIAC.

Amsley added a goal and Tessa Jones had 10 saves for the Rams (4-7-3, 3-3-2).

NORTH EAST, Md. — Elise Manning had 17 kills and four blocks for Hagerstown in a 25-11, 25-7, 25-15 sweep of Cecil in the Maryland JuCo Conference.

Emmalyn Stahl had 15 kills and 15 digs, Summer Neff had 23 assists and Tiffany Rohrer had 18 digs for the Hawks (15-3).

Pitt-Johnstown 3, Shepherd 0

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Kasey Mercier had seven kills and 14 digs for Shepherd University in a 25-23, 25-12, 25-21 WVIAC loss to Pitt-Johnstown (12-6, 5-4) .

Meg Kenny had eight kills and four blocks for the Rams (5-14, 1-6).


PREP VOLLEYBALL

Hancock 3, Bishop Walsh 0

HANCOCK — Kara McKinley had nine kills, nine assists, 10 service points and two aces to lead Hancock in a 25-7, 25-9, 25-15 sweep of Bishop Walsh.

Emily Harvey had 15 service points, five aces and four digs, Jessica Martin had six service points and three digs, Sara Wagner had 10 service points, four kills and two digs and Elizabeth Teeter had 10 service points, four aces, five kills and two assists for the Panthers (7-6).

Shalom 3, New Life 0

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Tori Yoder had 17 kills, 11 digs and a block to lead Shalom Christian Academy to a 25-16, 25-14, 25-20 MDCC quarterfinal sweep of New Life Christian on Tuesday.

Steph Bricker had six kills and 11 service points, Brooke Poe had five kills, Lexy Poe had four kills, 10 digs and six service points, Brooke Kuhns had two blocks and Adrienne Eckstine had 11 service points and three aces for the Flames.

Shalom will play Heritage Academy in the semifinals Saturday at 10 a.m. at Calvary Christian.

Goretti 2, Gerstell 1

Lauree Lorensen and Katie Gross both scored for St. Maria Goretti in a win over Gerstell.

Claire Vietri and Gabrielle Sottile had an assist each and Jenna Katrina had eight saves for the Gaels (3-10-4).

Everett 5, Hancock 1

EVERETT, Pa. — Courtney Royce scored a goal and Maddie Hixon had 16 saves for Hancock (0-9-1) in the loss.

Waynesboro 6, Fairfield 0

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Mallory Patterson scored two goals to lead Waynesboro in a shutout of Fairfield.

Alysha McCleaf had a goal and two assists, Liv Bailey, Jade Swope and Monica Beck added a goal each, Katie Clawson had two assists and Julie Smith and Kennedy Chandler each had an assist for the Maidens (14-4).

WATERFALL, Pa. — Jesse Swope had two goals and an assist to lead McConnellsburg past Forbes Road.

Beau Wilson had a goal, Tristin Deneen had an assist and Nick Daniels had six saves for the Spartans, who held a 21-2 advantage in shots.

BRIEF

Junior basketball registration

The Hagerstown Junior Basketball League will hold registration and tryouts Monday at E. Russell Hicks Middle School, Tuesday at St. Maria Goretti High School and Wednesday at Western Heights Middle School.

Registration and tryout times are the same each night: Fourth grade, 6:30 to 7 p.m.; Fifth grade, 7 to 7:30; Sixth grade, 7:30 to 8; Seventh grade, 8 to 8:30; Eighth grade, 8:30 to 9.

Returning players need only register. New players and those moving up from the Elementary Division (grades 4 to 6) to the Junior Division must register and try out. Players who are new to the league must bring a birth certificate.
