BOYS SOCCER
GREENCASTLE, Pa. — North Hagerstown’s Yusuf Bodirov scored off an assist from St. Maria Goretti’s Kevin Proctor as Washington County played Franklin/Fulton counties to a 1-1 tie in the 11th annual Four Diamonds All-Star game at Greencastle-Antrim High School.
Clear Spring’s Levi Bucher had seven saves and North’s Max Ober had six for Washington County, which is now 2-7-2 in the game.
Brandon Crider of Shalom Christian scored the lone goal for the Pennsylvania stars.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Four Diamonds Cancer Fund at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center to help families of pediatric cancer patients.

Burrs receives USCAA honor
Penn State Mont Alto freshman Kenneth Burrs, a 2012 North Hagerstown graduate, recently earned Wrestler of the Week honors from the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.
Burrs’ 7-1 week included two pins, a first-place finish at the Virginia Beach Tournament and a third-place finish at the Washington Jefferson Invitational.

Lewis, Kenny earn WVIAC honors
PRINCETON, W.Va. — Shepherd University outside hitter Melani Lewis and middle hitter Meg Kenny were selected to the 2012 All-WVIAC Volleyball Team by the league’s head coaches.
Lewis, a junior, was selected to the first team. She had 194 kills, 125 digs, 43 blocks (1 solo), 12 aces and 10 assists. She is third on the team in kills and tied for fourth in blocks.
Kenny, also a junior, was a second-team selection. She recorded 203 kills, 84 blocks (12 solo), 54 digs, 21 aces and four assists. She leads the team in blocks and is second in kills and aces.
Shepherd (12-16) is riding a six-match winning streak into its WVIAC Tournament quarterfinal match against Wheeling Jesuit today at 2 p.m. at University of Charleston.

DeBord earns honorable mention
Bethany College’s Blake DeBord, a Martinsburg High School graduate and three-year starter on the defensive line, received honorable mention on the All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference team.
