BALTIMORE — St. Maria Goretti won its Baltimore Catholic League clash with Loyola Blakefield in the waning moments Thursday.
With the game deadlocked at 58-all, Isaiah Harris-Winn took a pass from Martin Geben and was fouled with six seconds remaining.
Harris-Winn missed the first free throw but clinched the win by making the second shot.
Geben led Goretti (15-8, 5-5) with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots. Ryan Grant and Tyrus Fleetwood each had five assists.
Loyola (3-15, 1-9), which battled back from an eight-point deficit, hit six of its 10 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to stage its rally.
Mitch Cross led Loyola with 31 points, hitting six 3-pointers.

Highland View reaches semifinals
KEENE, Texas — Highland View Academy used a pair of strong first quarters to set the foundation to sweep two games Thursday and reach the semifinals of the Southwest Christian Hoops Classic.
With the victories, the Tartans (14-4) received a bye on Thursday night in the 12-team tournament and will play Friday at 7 a.m. in the semifinals. A victory will put Highland View into Saturday night’s championship game.
Arthur Thomas had 19 points, 17 rebounds and nine blocked shots on Thursday morning to lead Highland View to a 61-41 victory over Chisholm Trail (Texas) Academy.
Highland View jumped out to a 19-7 lead in the first quarter, keyed by Hunter Sorenson’s five points — including a 3. Thomas scored seven in the third quarter as the Tartans extended the lead to 49-31.
Sorenson scored 15 points and Justin Osoro added 13 in the win.
Thomas had 14 points, 14 rebounds and 12 blocked shots in the second game, a 58-20 win over Burton (Texas) Academy.
Thomas and Osoro combined to scored 19 of the Tartans’ first-quarter points en route to a 26-3 lead.
Osoro finished with 13 points and 19 rebounds, while Luis Mendoza added 10 points.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — Mercersburg went 2-1 at a quad-meet Wednesday. The Blue Storm defeated Jefferson 33-31 and Hampshire 47-27, but lost 53-18 to host Washington.
