MERCERSBURG, Pa. — The Blue Storm made a game of it for one half, but Blair Academy picked up its aggressiveness in the third quarter and outscored Mercersburg 25-7 in the period to pull away for a Mid-Atlantic Prep League victory Sunday.
Batouly Camara scored 21 points and Sadie Edwards added 19 points for Blair (16-2, 5-0).
Melody Gomez had 17 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double in the last five games for the Blue Storm (11-4, 1-3). Teal Tasker had 17 points and seven rebounds, and Hanna Warfield added five assists.

MERCERSBURG, Pa. — Blair Academy outscored Mercersburg Academy in every quarter, including 17-7 in the final period to pull away for the victory.
Dre Wills led Mercersburg with 24 points, nine rebounds and five steals.

Smith leads HCC at Liberty
LYNCHBURG, Va. — Grant Smith placed second in the men’s shot put (56 feet) and fifth in the weight throw (49 feet, 4 1/4 inches) for Hagerstown Community College at the Liberty Open on Saturday.
Also for the HCC men, Stephen Starliper placed seventh in the 5,000-meter run (16:09.95), A.J. El-Amin was seventh in the 500 (1:10.53), Brandon Horning was seventh in the mile (4:24.73), Kenny Kopp was seventh in the heptathlon (3,778 points) and Rodney Flora, Dave Homce, El-Amin and Jerel Madison placed seventh in the 4x400 relay (3:34.57). Eighth-place finishers included Andrew Drum in the 5,000 (16:37.35) and Chris Gardner in the 500 (1:10.75). Madison was 10th in the 200 (23.50).
For the HCC women, Paige Goebelbecker was seventh in the 5,000 (21:09.15).

BOONSBORO — Boonsboro hosted South Hagerstown and Hancock on Saturday, with Boonsboro B and Hancock each going undefeated at 3-0.

BRIEF
Hub City Softball League accepting new teams
The Hub City Softball League is accepting new men's slow-pitch teams for the 2013 season.
The season runs from April to August, with a kickoff tournament, 24-game regular season and playoff tournament. All games are played Monday through Thursday in the evening at Marty Snook Park. The deadline to enter for the 2013 season is March 1.
