The annual Beat the Press football picks contest is right around the corner and the question is — are you tough enough to take us on?
You’ll get that chance starting the first week of the NFL. Look in the sports section a week from today for the first week of picks.
Before we list the IVP representatives, let me take this time to announce that sports writer Ryan Leon is moving on. He spent a few years here at the IVP where he has grown and we’re going to miss him.
We want to wish him good luck in his future. Read about the path he has chosen for himself in Sunday’s edition.
Back to BTP, the representatives will be Local Content Editor Richard Brown, who’s only Achilles’ heel is called Wayne Cartee from Holtville.
Marketing Consultant Ross Rodriguez and Circulation Sales and Marketing Manager Sam Rice are both back.
Of course, Sports Editor Mario Renteria is back as well. We already have someone ready to fill in for Leon’s spot but we won’t make the announcement until next week.
