The Frozen Foote Indoor 3-D archery tournament will be Feb. 11-12 at the Whitetail Bowmen Archery Club, located at 321 N. Main St. in Aberdeen.

Registration from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 11 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 12. Entry fees: individuals $10 for one day or $18 for both days; family (three or more) $25 one day/$40 both; Cubs (under 12) $5 one day/$8 both. Ages 5 and under shoot free with parent. Concessions will be available.

36 mountain lions harvested

As of Thursday morning, 36 lions have been harvested in South Dakota's mountain lion hunting season that started Jan. 1.

So far, 20 females have been killed. The biggest lions harvested so far were 146 pounds (estimated to be 7 years old), 143 (2 ) and 142 (5). All were males.

The season ends March 31, or when 50 females or 70 total lions have been killed.

New media director

Kevin Neuendorf of Colorado Springs has been named the director of media and public relations for USA Shooting.

Neuendorf spent nearly 10 years as communications manager for the United States Olympic Committee before leaving in late 2010 to become the Communications Director for the World Series of Boxing Americas. He said he is no relation to Aberdeen Roncalli boys' basketball coach Todd Neuendorf.

S.D. walleye classic

The fifth annual Team/Co-Angler South Dakota Walleye Classic will be Aug. 8-10, launching from the Swan Creek boat ramp at Akaska.

This year's event again will include the festival with music, bull riding, vendors, arts in the park and kids' events. The team payouts will total $60,000 based upon a full field of 60 boats, and the co-angler payouts will total more than $7,500.

Snowmobilers fund-raiser

The Snowmobilers Helping Snowmobilers Poker Run is Saturday.

Cost is $5 per hand, all vehicles welcome. Start at any of the stops in Gary, Lake Cochrane, Clear Lake, Castlewood, Brandt, Toronto or Kranzburg. There will be a meal at 6 p.m. at Prairie View Golf Club House at Lake Cochrane for $15, which will include the dance ($5 dance only).
