Norma Goens
1930-2012
STANFORD — Norma June Goens, 81, of Independence, Ky., died Aug. 27, 2012, in Edgewood, Ky.
Born Dec. 8, 1930, to the late George Charles and Annie Goens, she worked as a packer in manufacturing and was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Dennis (Mary) Goens of Independence, Ky.; two brothers, Robert Lee Goens of Cincinnati, Ohio, and LeRoy Goens of Lancaster, Ky.; two sisters, Nancy Lynn Edwards of Columbus, Ohio, and Doris Jean (Doug) Schaber of Cincinnati; three grandchildren, Tami Marie Cole, Trisha Ann Goens and Andrew Joseph Goens; and one great-grandchild, Andrew Joseph “A.J.” Goens Jr.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, with funeral service following. Bro. Dan Gutenson will officiate. Burial will be at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford.
