Rose Wright
1941-2013
Rose Marie Griffin Wright, 71, of Lexington, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013.
Born May 10, 1941, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Frank Grant and Charlotte Adelaide Hainsworth Griffin. She was a graduate of Danville High School and attended Kentucky Southern Baptist College. While living in Danville, Knoxville and Dallas, she was a bank teller and CD representative. Rose was an avid fan of all sports, and especially UK Basketball. She had been a Cub Scout leader and was talented and creative. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lexington.
Survivors include her husband, William David Wright; and a son, Tyler Wright of Lexington; a brother, Frank Griffin of Greenville, S.C.; eight sisters, Roberta (Bob) Hiller and Betty (Jim) Cahill, both of Lexington, Nancy Griffin, Mary (Jim) Lester, Lillian Griffin, Barbara (Fox) Spoonamore, DeeDee (Jim Stevens) Pollard and Goldie (Richard) Sanders, all of Danville; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Rose was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Griffin and Robert Lee Griffin.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home, Broadway.
