    Robert E. Baker, 74, of Meyersdale, passed on July 16, 2011, in Cumberland, Md. He was born Feb. 9, 1937, in Finzel, Md., the son of the late Clyde E. and Irene (Finzel) Baker. Also preceded in death by his son, Keith L. Baker; daughter, Darlene Sines, and granddaughter, Cheryl L. Sines. He is survived by his wife, the former Thelma Yutzy and would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on July 28. Also survived by his daughter, Dianne (Roger) Schrock, Meyersdale; son, Lynn (Maria) Baker, Hummelstown, Pa.; son-in-law: Robert (Marsha) Sines, Meyersdale; 10 grandchildren: Andrew (Christina) Sines, Barrett (Robin) Schrock, Ashley (Ricky) Berkley, Chadd (fiancee Kristi Jo) Sines, Erin (Jason) Byer, Dustin, (friend Jessica) Schrock, Danielle (Chris) Vought, and Jenna Baker; step-grandchildren, Krista and Louis Mascari; five great-grandchildren: Owen and Benjamin Schrock, Madison Berkley, Caleb Sines and Evalina Boyer; three sisters: Yvonne (Wayne) Coughenour, Meyersdale; Carolyn Jean (James) Crowe, Frostburg, Md.; and Luann (James) Smith, Mineral Ridge, Ohio; and a brother: Larry (Jeanne) Baker, Rootstown, Ohio. He was a wildlife conservation officer from 1969 until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church; Local 1024 United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America since 1965; Quad State Bodger’s Woodturning Club; Knobley Mountain Properties, and American Association of Woodturners. He loved woodturning and cabinetmaking and could make beautiful furniture, bowls and hollow vessels from pieces of wood. He also was an avid hunter for many years and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Pocahontas, with Monsignor Samuel Tomaselli officiating. Interment Hostetler Church Cemetery, Greenville Township. Arrangements by William Rowe Price Funeral Home Inc., Meyersdale.
