  11. Ruth Louise (Walker) Lape, 76, of Roaring Spring

    Ruth Louise (Walker) Lape, 76, of Roaring Spring, died peacefully late Tuesday night at home surrounded by her husband and children. She was born in Somerset the daughter of the late Clyde E. and Blanche L. (Stahl) Walker. She married Robert W. Lape Sr. on Aug. 17, 1953, in the bethel Lutheran Church, Winchester, Va. She is survived by her husband;  four children, Cathy Glass and husband Allen of Steele Mountain, Duncansville, Robert W. Lape Jr. Esq. of Roaring Spring, Liz Dauberman and husband Jim of Gum Springs, Va., and Becky Brumbaugh and husband Don of James Creek.  Ruth was a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother of nine grandchildren, and great-grandmother of six great- grandchildren. She loved her family and provided a home of love, peace, and security. Her smile and warmth will be missed by her family and friends. Ruth is also survived by two brothers, George Walker and wife Guinevere of Salt Lake City, Utah and Kenneth Walker and wife Barbara of Somerset;  a sister, Alice Beeghly Fritz of Somerset;  and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Walker of Somerset. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Walker of Somerset. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Roaring Spring. Ruth owned and operated Roaring Spring News Agency for many years. She was a 1952 graduate of Somerset High School, where she represented her class as the maid of honor in the fifth Annual Somerset County Maple Festival. Ruth and her husband enjoyed attending the Central and Altoona Girls Basketball Games. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ruth’s memory may be given  to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 401 East Main Street, Roaring Spring, PA 16673.  Arrangements are by the Todd T.
