  15. Thaddeus Stevens Adopted Kindergardners graduate

    Thanks in part to a grant received by the college, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology has partnered with Lafayette Elementary School in Lancaster in 2012 for a unique program in the Lancaster area called Adopt-a-Kindergarten. Each year the college selects a kindergarten class and works with the students to introduce them to the fields of trades and technology. Instructors from the college have gone to the school to discusses with the classes what they teach and why it is important. The kindergartners then toured the college campus to get a better visual representation of what is included in the field. The program culminated this morning with a full commencement program, where the kindergartners received caps and gowns and processed through the normal ceremonial commencement rituals. Administrators, teachers and families of the students were on hand.
