At 9:40 p.m. Saturday, a man left the hotel at 120 E. Lombard St., approached an officer outside and told him that a woman inside had been shot, police said. Officers went to the man's hotel room, where they found his 21-year-old girlfriend suffering from a gunshot wound to the left leg.
She was unconscious at the time — apparently under the influence of some substance — and needed medics to revive her, police said. She was then taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Her injury is not considered life-threatening, police said. The couple is from California, police said.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said officers were investigating whether the shooting was a domestic incident or an accident.
"We have the boyfriend in for questioning," he said.
Another shooting took place in the 4100 block of Eierman Ave. in the Arcadia neighborhood of Northeast Baltimore. Police said officers were patrolling the 2700 block of Harford Ave. around 2:25 a.m. Sunday when they were flagged down by a 28-year-old man in a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe. The man told police that he had been shot nearby by an unknown person. He was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.
In addition, police said a shooting victim walked into MedStar Harbor Hospital in South Baltimore overnight, but they had little information about the incident.
