Kela Ballard put up a game-high 17 points for Arundel on Wednesday, but the inside game of No. 5 Seton Keough proved too much for the Wildcats (1-2) as the Gators (3-2) won, 59-34, in a nonconference girls basketball game.

Seton Keough made three of its four 3-pointers in the first half and was ahead 32-15 at the break.

Karli Zeps led Seton Keough with 15 points.

No. 10 St. Vincent Pallotti 38, No.12 Roland Park 30: The visiting Panthers (3-2) overcame a three-point halftime deficit. The Reds fell to 1-5. Beverly Ogunride had a game-high 12 points for Pallotti.

Institute of Notre Dame 42, Mercy 38: Brooke Fields scored 17 points, including going 7-for-8 from the line, to lead the host Indians (4-1) past the Magic. Sam Hruz led Mercy with 17 points.

Boys basketball

No. 12 Randallstown 76, Franklin 49: The Rams (2-0) got off to a slow start before their defense held the Indians (1-2) to five points in the second quarter and took a 33-point lead after three quarters. Jerell Cook led the Rams with 17 points.

Ben Franklin 65, Pikesville 42: The Bayhawks (4-0), led by Breyon Graves with 10 points, handed the host Panthers (1-3) their second straight loss.

Ben Franklin used a 2-3 zone and half-court traps to build a 30-16 halftime lead.

Douglass 70, Reginald F. Lewis 50: The host Ducks (3-1) used a combination of outside scoring by Corey Carter, with a game-high 17 points, and the inside presence of center Cortez Dunston to beat the Falcons.

Calvert Hall 56, Loyola 53: The host Dons (2-4) were up by 14 at the half, but the Cardinals (5-3), led by Sean Mayberry with 18 points, surged ahead. Bennett Bradley had 17 points for Loyola.

No. 5 John Carroll 63, Gilman 12: The Patriots (1-0) lost only two matches and recorded seven pins.

John Carroll finished strong winning the last three matches: C.J. Skokowski (106) by a decision of 7-1, Austin Smith (113) by a decision of 7-2 and Zach Dwyer (120) by pin in 1 minute, 35 seconds.
