About 15 people were treated for headaches and dizziness at hospitals following a possible chlorine leak at a Lifetime Fitness in west suburban Warrenville tonight.
An automatic fire alarm activated at 5:55 p.m. at the Lifetime Fitness in the 28000 block of Diehl Road but crews learned it was a hazardous materials situation and not a fire, said Warrenville Fire Protection District Capt. Herb Myers.
As of 6:30 p.m. about 15 people complaining of headaches and dizziness were taken to hospitals, said Myers.
None of the injuries is considered life-threatening, he said.
Myers said crews are investigating the matter as a possible chlorine leak.
No one answered the phone at the fitness club.
