Two men were wounded in a shooting in the South Chicago neighborhood this morning, authorities said.

The two were shot about 10:55 a.m. in the 2700 block of East 79th Street, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.

Two victims were taken in serious-to-critical condition from the scene, one to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the other to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Will Knight.

A 21-year-old man was in serious condition at Northwestern, while an 18-year-old who was shot in the back was at Christ Medical Center, Sullivan said.

WGN-TV Video from the scene showed police examining an area near a pizza takeout restaurant on the south side of 79th Street, including going in and out of the restaurant.
