Fatal highway crashes dip in second half of 2012

Crash fatalities declined slightly on Illinois roads in the second half of 2012 after the state began running a tally of the deaths on highway message boards, in response to an increase in deadly accidents in the previous months, the state's transportation chief said Monday.
