After hearing about the plan, the confidant found out who the intended target was and informed police. prosecutors said. The alleged plotter, Rey N. Trevino, is now facing a felony charge of threatening a public official.
Trevino, an alleged Latin Dragons member who lives in the 13400 block of South Avenue O, was arrested Friday evening when he turned himself in at the Chicago Police Department’s 4th District station.
In a court appearance Sunday, Judge Israel Desierto ordered Trevino held on $50,000 bail. Trevino, 19, is due back in court Friday. He’ll have to post $5,000 to leave custody.
