SAN ANTONIO -- Sylvia Fowles collected 23 points and 12 rebounds while Epiphanny Prince scored 22 to lead the Chicago Sky to a 77-63 victory over San Antonio on Wednesday at the AT&T Center.
The victory was the second on the road for the Sky (2-1). The Silver Stars slipped to 1-2 before 7,233 fans in their home opener.
The Sky led all but the opening 3:35 and maintained a comfortable double-digit lead through most of the fourth quarter after San Antonio briefly trimmed the lead to six points at 59-53 with 8:32 left.
Becky Hammon paced the Silver Stars with 21 points while Danielle Robinson added 13.
Swin Cash had 12 points and Ruth Riley added 10 points and 5 rebounds as the Sky shot 48.3 percent (29-of-60) from the field.
San Antonio opened with six unanswered points. But Prince and Fowles combined for 13 points the rest of the way as the Sky opened a 22-18 lead by quarter's end. Robinson scored nine in the quarter.
In the second quarter the Sky opened a 35-25 lead -- their largest to that point -- at the four-minute mark on a Prince jumper, The advantage grew to as much as 13 points and was 40-29 by halftime with Prince (16) and Fowles (11) already in double digits.
The Sky maintained a double-digit lead through most of the third quarter but San Antonio used a 6-2 run in final 1:42 to close the gap to 59-51 entering the final 10 minutes.
The Sky resume action against Washington on Friday at Allstate Arena.
