An attempted robbery occurred at knife point Tuesday on the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown campus, according to a press release from the university.
The incident happened in a parking lot near the Whalley Memorial Chapel. The perpetrator is described as a male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches in height and weighing about 170 pounds. He was dressed in black, including a black hoodie and orange tennis shoes. He is missing several front teeth.
An alert was issued to campus community members informing them of the incident. Increased patrols by campus police were scheduled. Students have been encouraged not to travel alone outdoors. Escorts will be provided by campus police officers as they are requested.
