It’s Girl Scouts cookie time
For those who have been looking forward to Thin Mints, Tagalongs, Samoas, Do-Si-Dos, Lemon Chalet Cremes, Trefoils, Dulce de Leches, and this year’s new cookie – Thank U Berry Munch, then the wait is almost over. Girl Scouts will begin taking orders Friday.
Delivery is planned for Feb. 17-24.
Girl Scouts cookies can help buy supplies for Girl Scouts troops or allow them to buy supplies for a local women’s shelter. Thin Mints and Trefoils can be sent sent overseas to troops in Iraq, or even donated to a local food pantry.
All of the revenue from all cookie sale activities supports Girl Scouts program at the local Girl Scouts council, including a portion that goes directly to the group selling cookies. Last year, the troop portion received by girls in western Pennsylvania was $1,974,508 and girls decide where the money goes.
