Ride with a Cause
The 3rd annual Ride With A Cause, an annual motorcycle ride and community picnic, in memory of Mary Gindlesperger, June 2 proceeds go to a family in the area that has been affected by Alzheimer’s. Food, entertainment by Keystone State Quartet, The Cash Review, Willing Vessels, Gene Smith and others. Games and fun for the whole family. Registration from 11 a.m. to noon and the ride leaves at noon sharp from New Beginnings Outreach Center Church, three miles north along Route 985, Jennerstown and ends at Boswell Community Park across from Burger King. The picnic starts at 4 p.m. No alcoholic beverages or drugs. Family event. 814-659-1551.
River and Wind
The Salvation Army — Somerset Service Center, 11th Annual River & Wind Challenge, June 2, a 22 mile bike ride or 62 mile bike ride on the Great Allegheny Passage. Participants will receive a T-shirt, meals, snacks and an award. 814-445-9232.

The Sipesville Volunteer Fire Co. chicken barbecue beginning at 4 p.m. June 2 at the Sipesville fire hall. Take-outs are available. Call ahead at 814-445-4899 to place orders.
Picnic food
The Meyersdale Church of the Brethren selling homemade baked beans, potato, pasta, bean and macaroni salads from 7:30 a.m. until sold out May 25. These will be available in pints and quarts. Also there will be baked goods available. This benefits the Stained Glass Window Fund.

Nature program and Bible study for all ages, Creation Appreciation, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 26. Rock-climbing tours of rock formations at camp and offsite in May. Beginners, intermediate and advanced climbers, ages 8 and up, can come to learn techniques for setting up climbs and safely exploring different climbing moves.
