Tomahawks (January 5, 2013)

The Tomahawks announced the rosters for the First Annual Johnstown Tomahawks Charity Classic to take place 7 p.m. Wednesday at the War Memorial Arena.
Twenty players each will make up “Team Kunitz,” which will don navy jerseys, and “Team Cooke,” which will don white jerseys.

The National Hockey League players on Kunitz’s team include Deryk Engelland, Pascal Dupuis, Jordan Staal, and Joe Vitale. Tomahawks Cody Bentzel, Casey Nelson, Jeff Bergh, Jake Fairchild, Cody Boyd, Zach Wallace, Brandon Reinholz, Cody Gylling, Mitch Kontny, Jordan Watt, and Chris Truehl will fill out the navy roster. Three players will be added to the roster before the game. 
 
NHL players on Cooke’s team include Ben Lovejoy, Brooks Orpik, Marc-Andre Fleury, Tyler Kennedy and Craig Adams, the latter two players being new additions for the game. Tomahawks Ian Spencer, Kristaps Bazevics, Jesse Kessler, Cobi Smith-Mass, Jaycob McCombs, Andrew McDonald, Connor Wright, Mike Sandor, J.B. Baker, and Colin Brennan will complete the team.
 
Four members of the Pittsburgh Vipers will also join the Charity Classic: Clayton Bouchard, Ryan Lottes, and Trevor Recktenwald will play for Cooke’s team while Joe Bender will play for Kunitz’s. Former Johnstown Chief and current Tomahawks Director of Player Development and Collegiate Advancement, Joe Tallari, will also play for Cooke’s team.
 
Tomahawks Head Coach Jason Spence and Assistant Coach Mike Letizia will retain those roles for Team Kunitz while Team President Rick Bouchard and General Manager Rick Boyd will serve as coach and assistant coach, respectively, for Team Cooke. Cooke and Kunitz will serve as honorary captains for the game.
