The two Somerset County commissioners who voted to adopt the West Corridor Zoning Ordinance have my profound appreciation! There is little of beauty on Route 601 and 31 could easily follow its fate if not monitored.
Although the owners along the corridor will grumble in the near term you won't hear them complain when their property values increase due to their attractive surroundings.
The citizenry needs to get over the mistaken idea that government regulations are inherently bad. (Take note, Commissioner John Vatavuk). It falls to the government to champion that which espouses the common good; perhaps regrettable, but a fact of life nonetheless.
