Virginia point guard Jontel Evans, whose surgically repaired right foot flared up in Wednesday’s 46-38 win over Tennessee, and the Cavaliers’ fans can breathe easier.
Sources told the Daily Progress of Charlottesville that Thursday’s X-rays didn’t reveal any further damage to Evans, a senior point guard from Bethel High.
He definitely won’t play Saturday against Mississippi Valley State, sources said, but should be back after that.
Evans had an operation in October to repair a stress fracture in his right foot. When he left Wednesday’s game, the Cavaliers struggled on offense.
