  13. Robert Worden 1919 - 2013

Robert Worden passed early on May 16 at 3:09 a.m. He was 93 and up until 100 days ago he pretty much went the distance on his own terms. Born at Letterman Hospital, located on the Presidio, in San Francisco and raised in Manteca, CA he grew up in the Bay Area before entering the Navy in 1941. Serving his naval time on a mine sweeper, Dad finished his tour of duty, returned to Southern California where he married Edna C. Worden. As a brewer, he spent almost 40 years with Anheuser- Busch, before retiring. As a father he proved to be a great role model, solid provider and a great dad! Fond memories of Brand Park, family vacations and the various sports events! All these qualities and simply the best attitude in the world! Always the optimist ever ready to play ping pong or baby sit and always ready to deliver that “big laugh!” Everyone loved Papa Bob!

  21. LOCAL LOWDOWN: I want my 10 cents back!

It can happen to anyone. Friends stop over and bring a six-pack to share. This is good, you think, of the mixed six-pack of specialty microbrews which have limited distribution. Perhaps your friends brought a 12 pack of Busch Light, made by American brewing company Anheuser-Busch with widespread distribution.
