  7. Tweets vs. phone calls

Not so long ago, a man on an airplane was served a sandwich he didn't like. He used Twitter — the real-time personal news feed, if you didn't know — to alert the world to his displeasure. An airline employee on the ground saw the tweet, relayed the message to a flight attendant who minutes later asked the man what could be done to assuage his disappointment.

  19. What's the deal with all these airplane freak-outs?

The JetBlue pilot who had his stage-five freak-out over the skies of Amarillo has been charged with interfering with a flight crew, and why not? On that flight going from New York to Las Vegas, flight 191 made that emergency landing in Amarillo after Clayton Osbon left the cockpit, yelling things like, "we're going to take you down" and "there's a bomb on board." You know, pretty much everything you don't want your captain to say while you're sky-high. Passengers were absolutely terrified. Fortunately, the co-pilot locked the cockpit door, keeping captain crazy out, and that's when they were able to land in Amarillo. Osbon's getting medical care under the custody of the FBI.
