19. Moscow Festival Ballet performs Sleeping Beauty at The Quick Center in Fairfield

This isn't just a kids' version of Sleeping Beauty — this is a real-deal, full-length ballet in three acts that premiered in 1890 in St. Petersburg, Russia, with music by Tchaikovsky and choreography by Marius Petipa. It's being presented by The Moscow Festival Ballet, a company that can do justice to Russian classics, and it's thought to be Petipa's materpiece. Let's test those attention spans, shall we?

  21. Chinese depictions of the afterworld on display at Bellarmine Museum of Art in Fairfield

Concern for the afterworld was an important ingredient in the daily lives of the ancient Chinese. Because of this, they'd lay their dead to rest in tombs along with the mingqi, or "spirit articles," for the deceased's journey. Well, their high-status dead at any rate. Fairfield University's Bellarmine Museum of Art is exhibiting 13 such objects, from the Han (206 BCE-220 CE) and Tang (618-907 CE) Imperial Dynasties, now through early June.

  23. Crime and Punishment: Yale football players allegedly assault 60-year old Occupy New Haven resident

Damage to Fairfield University dorms for which no student has been caught or fessed up has totaled $51,000 this academic year, reports the student newspaper The Mirror. The university splits the cost of repairing such "unattributed damage" between every student living on the floor on which it happens and adds it to their bills. "The single most common charge is vomit cleanup," said an associate director of residence life. One particular floor, the third in all-male Jogues Hall, has caused 20 percent of the total cost, due to smashed mirrors, broken exit signs and, of course, puke. The Mirror's intrepid reporter visited the floor on a Wednesday morning and found a few overturned garbage cans and vomit-stained toilets. Sophomore Kevin Slattery explained the cycle of frustration and destruction thusly: "When life gives you lemons, as in Jogues, you make lemonade, as in breaking stuff."
