    Congratulations to the Alabama Crimson Tide, who are the national champions of college football.  Let's recognize, too, the Mountain West Conference as winners of the Bowl Challenge Cup.  But, most of all, kudos to the Big Ten Conference, for not again humiliating themselves to the rest of country during this bowl season.
