  1. Family of Mesquite Soldier Mourns Loss

    A 25 year old Mesquite soldier was killed Thursday when enemy forces attacked his unit in Northern Iraq.
1st Lt. Dustin Vincent had just gotten married before being deployed to Iraq for the first time six months ago.
Vincent graduated from Mesquite high school in 2005, then attended the University of Texas at Arlington. He entered the army after graduating. He leaves behind his wife also also a young daughter who is just about three years old. His wife and parents were in Connecticut on Saturday to recover his body. His aunt says Dustin had gotten out of a broken-down vehicle in order to help his group to safety when he was shot by a sniper. He was the only one injured. She recalls saying goodbye to her nephew.
