Children’s Village of Washington County Inc. will host its inaugural 5K run and Kids 1 Mile Fun Run Saturday, June 23, at its campus at 1546 Mount Aetna Road in Hagerstown.
All participants must be registered.
The 5K Run/Walk begins at 8 a.m. The free Kids 1 Mile Fun Run begins at 9 a.m. and the free Tot Trot starts at 10 a.m.
Registration costs $20 for adults and $15 for students.
Participants and their families are welcome to tour the facility on race day.
All proceeds benefit the life-safety education program at Children’s Village.
Children’s Village provides the program to more than 2,000 second-graders from public, private and home schools each year.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 0077 recorded losses of 41 pounds for the week.
The Best TOPS losers were Louise Horst and Rosemary Gill. The best KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) losers were Joan Budny and Judy Purdham. The no-no snack for the week is soda.
Awards were presented for the month of May. The best TOPS losers were Kathy Freese, Patsy Price, Joanne M. and Joanne S. Honored KOPS were Rose Shockey, Purdham and Mildred Hluchey. Gill had perfect attendance for the month with no gains. Shining Stars were Emma Jean Robertson and Patsy Martin. Charms were given to those who came back from vacation with a weight loss. They included Dottie Alexander, Dorothy Martin, Inga Y., Mary Jo Kemper and Nancy Proctor.
The Busy Bee team won the contest with a loss of 32 1/2 pounds for the month.
Kathy Freese presented awards for her contest “A Piece of the Pie” to Gill and Kemper.
Dottie Alexander continued her program on “The Food Exchange” with information on fruit exchanges.
The group meets Mondays at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown.
