Banquet and auction
For a great meal and a great time, plan to attend the annual Friendship Banquet and Auction at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, Church and High streets, Saturday at 5 p.m. The yearly fundraiser has a St. Patrick’s Day theme this year with plenty of green on the tables, plus live and silent auction items and special prizes.
All proceeds benefit the St. Thomas’ Building and Maintenance Fund.
Tickets cost $15 per person and can be purchased at the door.

Apple pies for sale
Taste a little bit of summer early. The Ladies Ministry of the Hancock Church of God, off Millstone Road, will sell homemade apple pies. The pies are frozen and you can bake them yourself in your own oven for a tasty treat. The pies cost $8 each.
To place an order, contact the church office at 301-678-5390 or Sandra Goodwin at 443-945-2197. The women have more than 100 pies to sell.
Bingo event
Don’t forget the St. Patrick’s Day bingo fundraiser Sunday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 16 E. High St.
This is always an enjoyable event, made more special by the food and fellowship. Doors open for lunch at noon, and bingo tickets will be sold at the door.
Movie night
The Hancock branch of Washington County Library will hold movie night Saturday. “Frankenweenie” is the feature, suitable for all ages. The film runs from 3 to 5 p.m. Free refreshments will be provided.
