Boonsboro High cross country teams are state champs

It was the first championship for the boys team, and the victory came down to one point.
The girls garnered their first state championship since 1995. Parents of the teams are proud of the efforts of every runner, and are appreciative of the efforts of coaches Becky Walters and Shawn Cutsail.
Rohrersville Ruritan Club will hold an all-you-can-eat oyster, ham and turkey dinner Saturday from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at the Old School Building.
Dinner will be served with mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, green beans and stuffing.
Tickets cost $15 for adults, $7.50 for those ages 6 to 12 and are free for those 5 and younger.
Carryout will available, but bring containers. The building is handicap-accessible. Rohrersville is five miles south of Boonsboro on Md. 67 (watch for signs.)

Twelve artisans and craftspeople at nine stops will share the creative process of their work Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the annual Valley Craft Network Holiday Studio Tour.
The public is invited to experience the arts and enjoy the hospitality of the member artists, who will share their talent, environment and lifestyles.
The studios on the self-guided tour are in the Pleasant and Middletown valleys in southeastern Washington County and western Frederick County, Md.
The event is free and open to the public.

The Boonsboro Titans football program will host a quarter auction Sunday at Beaver Creek Country Club. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the auction begins at 2 p.m.
The $5 admission fee includes one paddle of quarters.
Vendors include Scentsy, Pampered Chef and Thirty-One. Donations from local businesses will also be included.

Boonsboro Bible Church will host a community Thanksgiving dinner Thursday, Nov. 22, from noon to 4 p.m. The dinner is free and open to the public.

Masala Bhangra fitness to begin
A new fitness program, Masala Bhangra, will be introduced at St. Mark’s Episcopal Parish Hall in Boonsboro in January, and then followed by a training in March at Fit in Boonsboro.
The trainer for this master class is from Pittsburgh. The program was started by Sarina Jain. Videos of the program can be viewed on YouTube by typing in Masala Bhangra.
The Boonsboro branch of Washington County Free Library will offer several activities this week. To register for any of the events, call 301-432-5723.
Today, the movie “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” (rated PG-13) will be shown at 6 p.m.
On Thursday, Book Share will take place at 6 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a favorite book to share.
On Saturday at 11:30 a.m., the movie “Brave” (rated PG) will be shown.
Young Readers Book Club meets Monday, Nov. 19, at 5 p.m. The discussion will be on the book “Okay for Now” by Gary D. Schimidt.
ABC Book Club meets Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 3 p.m. to review “Still Alice” by Lisa Genova.
