Samples Manor Church sets candlelight service
Samples Manor Church of God, at 2128 Harpers Ferry Road near Dargan, will hold a candlelight memorial service Sunday at 7 p.m. The Rev. Kenny Johnson will preach and play music for the service. The service is being held to remember loved ones. The community is invited.
Keedysville begins year with changes
Keedysville will begin 2012 with curbside recycling the week of Jan. 23. The town also has a new 300,000-gallon water storage tower, a new booster station pumping water to the reservoir in Boonsboro and approximately 6,000 feet of new water line on Main Street.

Sandy Ferris offers fitness classes in Keedysville
Certified instructor Sandy Ferris offers a variety of fitness classes at the Little Antietam Community Center in Keedysville.
Pilates mat classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 3, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Basic mat exercises improve core strength, posture, flexibility and tone muscles.
Thursday evening classes, from 6 to 7 p.m., vary and may include aerobics, strength training, Pilates, yoga or a combination of those formats.
Saturday morning yoga begins Jan. 7 from 9 to 10 a.m. A class geared to the young at heart is offered on Wednesday mornings from 10 to 11 a.m. This class, which begins Jan. 11, includes simple low-impact aerobic moves, strength training, flexibility and balance training.
