The Smithsburg Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Baseball League will hold registration Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Smithsburg Fire Hall, 22 N. Main St.
Bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate to registration. The cost is $40 for a single player or $70 per family for the Cal Ripken division, which is for those ages 4 to 12. Registration costs $135 for the Babe Ruth Division, which is for those ages 13 to 18.
All Washington County residents are eligible.

Quartet to perform Sunday at church
Welty Church of the Brethren, 13465 Greensburg Road, Smithsburg, will host the Skyline Boys Quartet Sunday at 10:4 5 a.m. The community is invited.
AARP chapter to meet Feb. 14
AARP Chapter 623 of Washington County will meet Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m. in the auditorium of Western Maryland Hospital Center on Pennsylvania Avenue in Hagerstown.
Mary McPhearson, from the health department, will present a program on fall prevention. Prospective members are always welcome.

Allegany Dental Care is holding its fifth annual food drive during the month of February. The firm will be accepting donations of nonperishable food items at its three locations. All food collected will be donated to Food Resources Inc.
Allegany’s offices are at: 19418 Leitersburg Pike (across from the new post office and Lyles Center); 22109 Jefferson Blvd. (near Smithsburg); and 17719 Virginia Ave. (near the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Halfway Boulevard).
