Christmas bazaar

Brownsville Church of the Brethren invites the community to its annual Christmas bazaar Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. 

Themed gift baskets, freshly made food, baked goods and other items will be available for purchase.


The church is on Md. 67 south of Rohrersville, and has held this event for more than two decades. 

Christmas Extravaganza

Mount Nebo Christian Preschool will hold a Spirit of Christmas Extravaganza Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Baked goods, food and drinks will be available, and several direct sales vendors will be in attendance. 

Santa Claus will make an appearance for visits and photos, and children’s holiday activities will be ongoing so parents can get some holiday shopping done. 

Mount Nebo UMC is at 134 S. Main St. in Boonsboro.

Christmas party

The American Legion Auxiliary of Boonsboro will hold its annual children’s Christmas party Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the post home. Those ages 12 and younger are welcome to enjoy a visit with Santa, a magic show by Michael T., and light refreshments. For more information, call Cindy at 301-791-2369.

Library news

The Boonsboro Free Library, 401 Potomac St., is offering a variety of activities in the coming weeks. 

On Saturday, those interested in the art of rug hooking are invited to come in to learn, visit and share. Call the library for times.
 
A cookie exchange will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. Bring a dozen of your favorite holiday cookies. Swap with other attendees and leave with a dozen new cookies to try. All recipes will be provided. 

Family Fun Day will be Saturday, Dec. 8, beginning at 10:15 a.m. It will include crafts, storytelling by Crystal Brown and the showing of the movie “Arthur Christmas.”

First Friday Fellowship

Trinity Lutheran Church of Boonsboro invites the community to its First Friday Fellowship Friday, Dec. 7, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. 

There will be a hot baked potato bar and conversation.  

There is no cost for the dinner, but donations received will support Micah’s Backpack program, which feeds area children.

Olde Tyme Christmas to be held Dec. 7

Boonsboro will celebrate its annual Olde Tyme Christmas Friday, Dec. 7, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Shafer Park. 

The annual event is a great way to catch and share the Christmas spirit.
 
Mayor Skip Kauffman will light the town tree, and Santa and friends will be in town to share cookies and hot chocolate.

Cookie walk planned Dec. 8

Trinity Lutheran Church in Boonsboro will hold a cookie walk Saturday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

The event supports Micah’s Backpack, a program that feeds area children in South County.
