The Secret Santa shop, sponsored by Maugansville Elementary Afterschool Center, will be open to the community Monday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the school gym and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

Attendees do not have to attend Maugansville Elementary to shop at the Secret Santa Shop. Shopping is “child friendly.” There will be volunteer parents to assist with shopping.

 

Community band

The Williamsport Community Band will hold its 15th annual Christmas concert at  two locations. 

On Sunday at 7 p.m., the band will perform at Tri-State Fellowship, 13153 Cearfoss Pike in Hagerstown. 

The concert will be repeated Sunday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m. at St. James Brethren Church, 17718 Lappans Road in St. James. 

The band has won many area awards.

The concerts are free and open to all.

Dinner to benefit humane society

The Eagles Club of Hagerstown will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. to benefit the Humane Society of Washington County. 

The event was organized by Gregory Rohrer and will feature spaghetti with meatballs, salad, garlic bread and applesauce. Cakes will be served for dessert. 

Tickets cost $7.50 and can be purchased daily from 1 to 9 p.m. at the Eagles Club at 18 N. Locust St. in Hagerstown. 

Tickets will also be available at the door.

In addition, tickets will be available today at the animal shelter from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
