Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 802 Summit Ave. in Hagerstown, will hold its fifth annual auction Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m.
Doors open at 3 p.m.
Food and desserts will be available, provided by the United Methodist Women of Emmanuel UMC.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit major church improvements.
There will be many items for sale, including homemade pies, cakes and jellies; two tickets to the Monday Night Nov. 12 NFL game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers; antique dishes; one-hour airplane ride for five people; Leitersburg Cinemas tickets; Nick Markakis Jersey; Baltimore Ravens merchandise; Troy Polamalu signed photograph; autographed puck from Mike Green of the Washington Capitals; and gift certificates.
South High Boosters meet today at school
The South Hagerstown High School Boosters will meet today at 7 p.m. in the media center at the school.
The group will discuss the tailgating party and homecoming, which is this weekend.
Lioness Club to meet Thursday
The Hagerstown Lioness Club will hold its regular meeting Thursday at Academy Theatre Conference and Banquet Center in downtown Hagerstown.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
The guest speakers will be Paul and Tammy Needy, who will share their adventure and show pictures from their trip to Tanzania.
Class of 1961 to hold picnic
The South Hagerstown High School Class of 1961 will hold a picnic reunion Saturday at Doub’s Woods Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The reunion committee will bring drinks and meat.
Classmates are asked to bring a covered dish to share.

Rummage sale set for Thursday
St. Mary Catholic School will hold a rummage sale Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Drop-off day is Wednesday.
The school will accept clothes, jewelry, household items, plants, furniture, electronics and numerous other odds and ends (no tires, used paint, soiled carpets or nonworking electronics, such as TVS, computers and monitors, etc.
