Gerald McGee will present an organ recital at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Sunday at 4 p.m. (snow date is Feb. 27 at 4 p.m.).
The recital will be a repeat of the program he presented at the Cadet Chapel at West Point in September. Since the organ at West Point was originally built by the M.P. Moller Organ Co., McGee said he wants to repeat the recital at St. John’s Lutheran, the home church of the Moller family. The program will include works by Sibelius, Messiaen, Franck, Mendelssohn, Bach, Mahler, Foote and Cook.
The organist’s recitals have included the National Cathedral, St. Thomas Church in New York City, Trinity Church in Boston and Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
Admission will be by donation, which will benefit Discovery Station of Hagerstown.
