Cruise-in will benefit Toys for Tots
A cruise-in Oct. 26 was held in Williamsport, this one to benefit breast cancer awareness. The cruise-ins are held once a month to benefit various charities. The cruise-in benefits Toys for Tots. Everyone is asked to bring a toy or monetary donation.
Entertainment will be an Elvis Revue. Santa Claus, as played by Bud Kline, will make an appearance. Bring a camera if you want to take your picture with him. There will also be door prizes and 50/50 drawing.
Thanks to everyone who participated since April. This year, the cruise-ins have been supported by several local businesses.

Driver’s ed class offered for WHS students
For Williamsport High School students, Widmyer Driving School will hold a driver’s-education class at Springfield Middle school starting Monday, Dec. 10.
The class will meet after school for 10 days from 3:45 to 6:45 p.m.

Pancake breakfast set at Calvary Temple
A pancake breakfast will be held Saturday from 7 to 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Temple, 147 S. Conococheague St.
Breakfast includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, eggs, homefries, biscuits, sausage and chipped beef gravy, and one serving of bacon or sausage.
The meal costs $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for those ages 3 to 12.
Christmas bazaar planned for Saturday
Van Lear Brethren in Christ Church, 10743 Van Lear Drive, will hold a Christmas bazaar Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The bazaar will feature handmade cards, crafts, photography, woodwork, ornaments and jewelry.
Food such as homemade soups, baked goods, whoopie pies, and potato candy will be available for purchase.
Clothes of Hope schedule for November
Clothes of Hope Ministries at Williamsport United Methodist Church, 25 E. Church St., provides gently used and some new clothing.
It will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. this Saturday, Thursday, Nov. 8, and Monday, Nov. 19. It will be open from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5 and 26, and Thursday, Nov. 15. On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, the ministry will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There is no charge for clothing. Monetary donations are accepted.
Holiday vendor show to benefit P.R.A.Y.
The second annual holiday vendor show to benefit Providing Relief for Autistic Youth, or P.R.A.Y., is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Ramada Plaza, 1718 Underpass Way near Valley Mall.
The early Christmas shopping event will feature a variety of vendors and local artisans with original designs in handbags, lotions and oils, jewelry and home decor.
• Williamsport’s Christmas Parade and the lighting of Byron Memorial Park are planned for Friday, Nov. 30. Groups should call Donnie at Town Hall, 301-223-7711, to reserve a spot in the parade.
• Charlie Brown Christmas — Reindeer in the Rafters at Springfield Farm Barn offers five opportunities to visit the maze of Christmas trees and lighting: Dec. 1, 2, 8 and 9 from 5 to 8 p.m.; and Dec. 4 from noon to 5 p.m. Want to decorate a tree for your local business or group, call Joan at 301-223-7229.
• The Williamsport Community Band’s free “Home for the Holidays” Concert takes place Sunday, Dec. 16, at St. James Brethren Church, 17718 Lappans Road.
