Event for seniors scheduled July 12

Hilltop Christian Fellowship, 12624 Trinity Church Drive, Clear Spring, will host an afternoon of food, fellowship and social activities for senior citizens Tuesday, July 12, at 11:30 a.m.

A light lunch will be provided. All seniors are invited to the free event. Bring a friend to share an afternoon of good times.



Book discussion

Clear Spring Library will hold a book discussion Wednesday, July 6, at 11:15 a.m.

The book to be discussed will be “When We Were Strangers” by Pamela Schoenewaldt, which chronicles the life journey of a young immigrant seamstress as she travels from her isolated Italian mountain village through the dark corners of late 19th-century America.

Books are available through the L. P. Snyder circulation desk. Beverages and cookies will be provided.

Movie event

The Clear Spring Library will hold a Novel Destinations Movie Afternoon on Tuesday, July 12, at 1 p.m.

The movie, “The Da Vinci Code,” rated PG-13, will be shown. At the end of the movie, the winner of the literary quiz drawing will be announced. Participants do not have to be in the summer reading club to attend the movie. Snacks will be provided.
