A Fourth of July event is planned at Fairgrounds Park in Hagerstown on Monday, July 4, from 6 to 10 p.m.
Entertainment by Bill Haley’s Comets will take place at 6 p.m. and a fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m. Take a lawn chair along.
Hager House tour
The Jonathan Hager House and Museum in Hagerstown City Park will be open Thursday, July 14, at 7 p.m. for free tours, lectures and slideshows. Learn about some of the history behind some of Hagerstown’s still-standing historic structures at the event titled, “Hagerstown’s Historic Homes and Buildings.”
Downtown music series continues Thursday
City Center Jazz Nights, a free music series at University Plaza on West Washington Street, will be Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event will feature a variety of regional performers.

Driver-safety course
The Washington County Commission on Aging will hold an AARP driver-safety program Saturday, July 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ravenwood Lutheran Village, 1158 Luther Drive in Hagerstown.
The instructor is Terry Marshall.
The class is designed to help drivers improve their skills.
