First marking period ends Friday

A quick reminder that Friday is the end of the first marking period for the county’s secondary schools. There will be a 2 1/2-hour early dismissal.   



Crab feed


American Legion Post 211 in Funkstown will host an all-you-can-eat crab feast Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. Crabs will be served from 1 to 4 p.m.

The fundraiser is a great way to usher out the last of summer and welcome the fall season.  

Tickets cost $25 per person.

The menu includes crabs, hot dogs, baked beans, coleslaw and drinks. There will be games of chance and 50/50s. Tickets are available at the Legion or by calling 301-791-0211.



Flea market

American Legion Post 211 in Funkstown will hold an indoor flea market and yard sale the first Saturday of every month. Vendors are needed.
