Fourth of July celebration

There will be something for everyone in Byron Memorial Park on Wednesday, as Williamsport holds its annual Independence Day celebration.

The Williamsport pool will be open special hours, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for the holiday.

The Williamsport Volunteer Fire and EMS will have food ready for purchase at 2 p.m., including pit-beef sandwiches.

The Rhythm Kings will entertain beginning at 3:30 p.m.

At 7:30 p.m., the Williamsport Community Band will perform a patriotic concert, leading up to a fireworks display at dusk.

Everyone is welcome. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

 

Announcements

  • Williamsport Town Hall will be closed Wednesday in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.
  • Barnfest entertainment event at Springfield Farm Barn has been canceled for this year.
  • Supper will not be served Thursday at Rehoboth United Methodist Church. The Shepherd’s Table will be closed. It will reopen Thursday, July 12.

 

2012 yearbooks available 

Williamsport High School still has a few 2012 yearbooks available at the school. They cost $85 each. Stop by the main office or call 301-766-6423 if interested.

 

Friday cruise-in to feature aerial photos

Friday’s classic car cruise-in begins at 6 p.m. on Potomac Street.

Lost in the ’50’s will provide the entertainment, including a floor show.

Aerial photos will be taken. There will be door prizes and 50/50 drawing.

A donation of $3 is requested. The rain date is July 13.
