The Clear Spring Garden Club will welcome Dennis Warrenfeltz of Roostervane Gardens in Funkstown as its guest speaker. His topic will be “Easter Eggs and Fresh Herbs.” The meeting will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at St. John’s UCC.
The meeting is open to the public.
Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, 14615 Fairview Road, will hold a slippery ham and chicken potpie dinner Saturday, March 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. The community is invited.
A pancake breakfast will be held at the Claud E. Kitchens Outdoor School at Fairview on Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m.
The breakfast is being held in conjunction with the maple sugar festival. The proceeds will benefit the green school program at Clear Spring Elementary School.
The program provides students with environmental education and experiences.
The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage patties and a choice of beverage. Only 200 tickets will be sold. It will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for children.
The festival will feature maple sugaring demonstrations and various activities for children. The festival will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A bluegrass band will perform.
‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers’
The Clear Spring High School Drama Club will present “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” Friday March 8, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 10, at 2 p.m.
The show will be held in the Clear Spring High School auditorium.
Tickets cost $10 for adults and $8 for students.

The Clear Spring Lions Club will hold its 62nd annual Minstrel/Variety Show Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 17, at 2 p.m. at Clear Spring High School.
Tickets cost $6 for adults, $4 for students and children and are free for preschoolers. There are also opportunities to enjoy dinner before the shows hosted by three local organizations.
• The Clear Spring Band Boosters will hold a spaghetti dinner Friday, March 15, from 5 to 7 p.m.
• The Clear Spring High School athletic department will hold a roast beef supper from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, and a soup and sandwich sale on Sunday, March 17, starting at 11:30 a.m.
Dinners are not included in the ticket price.
