Girls on the Run registration is today

Registration for Girls on the Run of Washington County will take place today, starting at 7 p.m., at Spicher’s Appliance, 13427 Pennsylvania Ave. in Hagerstown.

Girls on the Run is a 10-week after-school program for third- through fifth-grade girls that combines training for a 3.1-mile running event with self-esteem enhancing and uplifting workouts.

Teams are forming for the spring season at Maugansville, Potomac Heights and Paramount elementary schools and Grace Academy. Space is limited.

The program costs $150. Financial aid is available.

Hot Wheels show planned for Feb. 26

A Hot Wheels show will be held Sunday, Feb. 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 19731 Shiloh Church Road, Hagerstown.

Hot Wheels is a brand of die-cast toy cars and trucks that collectors buy, sell and trade.

There will be a car track and accessories at the show.

Participants can enter to win door prizes.

Hot Wheels will be on display and participants can bring their own Hot Wheels to display.

Fall bus trip to Vermont planned

Mary Hamilton’s “Get Out of Town Tours” is offering a fall bus trip to Vermont with a stop at Foxwoods in Connecticut from Sept. 24 to 28.

Cost is $745 per person, double occupancy, with $100 due at time of booking. Monthly payments can be made, but final payment is due by Aug. 15.
