The Hagerstown Lioness Club will hold its annual Holiday Prelude Auction and Friendship Night on Thursday at the Academy Theatre and Conference Center in Hagerstown.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Those bringing auction items should plan to arrive by 5:30 p.m.

Business workshop features social media
A business workshop, “Social Media: Turn Your Business into a Flourishing Success,” is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hager Hall Crystal Ballroom, 901 Dual Highway.
Management Consultant Jennifer Weiss will present the program, which is cosponsored by the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Hagerstown and the Small Business Development Center.
The cost is $20 for dinner and the program or $15 for the program only.

Humane Society needs cat, dog supplies
The Humane Society of Washington County is in need of nonclumping cat litter, Purina Cat and Kitten Chow, Pedigree Dog and Puppy Chow, and dog treats. They also are in need of blankets and towels for the animals.
Due to the recent outbreak of parvo disease in the county, there are virtually no blankets and toys available for dogs.
Supplies can be brought to the society at 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown.
