Hunter Horse Show will be held at ag center

The Washington County Horse Council will hold the Hunter Horse Show Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center.

The entry fees for classes are $10 each or $25 per division. The fee for medal classes is $15 apiece.

Grand and reserve ribbons will be awarded in each division. Ribbons will be given up to sixth place in each class except for the medal classes.

Pork-and-sauerkraut dinner slated for May 20



Three Keedysville churches — St. Peter’s Lutheran, Mount Vernon United Church of Christ and Salem United Methodist — will hold a pork-and-sauerkraut dinner Friday, May 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church at 25 S. Main St. in Keedysville.

Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 12. Those younger than 6 will be admitted for free.

Dinner includes a serving of pork with barbecue sauce or gravy, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, green beans, a drink and dessert. Takeout is available.

Proceeds will benefit the Keedysville Christian Day Camp.





Catholic Daughters to hold indoor yard sale



The Catholic Daughters of St. James Court 2207 in Boonsboro will hold their annual indoor yard sale Friday, May 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, May 21, from 8 a.m. to noon.

The yard sale will be held in the parish hall of the church at the corner of Main Street and Ford Avenue.

Baked goods, soups and sandwiches will be sold. Everything will be $5 per bag Saturday night.

Sharpsburg Little League will hold cash bonanza



The Sharpsburg Little League will hold a cash bonanza Saturday, May 21, at the Williamsport Fire Hall.

Tickets cost $35 each, and two people will be admitted per ticket.

Doors open at 4 p.m., dinner is at 6 p.m., the drawing starts at 7 p.m. and there will be a dance and DJ following the drawing.

Dinner includes chicken, ham, meatballs, baked beans, macaroni salad, coleslaw, desserts, soda and beer. There also will be tip jars and raffles.

The last ticket drawn will win $1,000, and every 10th ticket drawn will win $35.

St. James Brethren Church yard sale slated for May 21



St. James Brethren Church at 17718 Lappans Road (Md. 68) will hold a yard sale Saturday, May 21, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Breakfast will be served from 8 to 10 a.m., and lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Pavilion spaces cost for $20 for indoor space and $15 for outdoor spaces. Parking lot spaces are available for $10. Vendors must provide their own tables.
