Troop 17 helps at Antietam

Williamsport Boy Scout Troop 17 volunteered with the National Park Service during the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Antietam. The Scouts helped with parking for the many visitors to the event. The menu includes all-you-can-eat spaghetti, apple sauce and drinks.

Activities will be on-going throughout the event.

The meal costs $7 per person.

Basket bingo planned for Nov. 4

The annual Shirley B. Robison basket bingo fundraiser will be Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Williamsport Fire Hall.

The event is in memory of Shirley and Jim Robison and all proceeds will be used to help improve the quality of life for local cancer patients and their families.

The event will feature 25 games, raffles, cash warm-up games, 50/50 and door prizes.

Tickets cost $25 each or two for $40.

Hill named to honor roll

Jeremy Hill, a sixth-grader at Springfield Middle School, was named to the honor roll for the first marking period.
