Church to hold Thanksgiving Eve service

Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 20214 Locust Grove Road, will hold a community Thanksgiving eve service Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m.

Refreshments will be served at the church hall following the service.

An offering will benefit the South County Food Bank.

Samples Manor Church to hold revival 

Samples Manor Church of God will hold a Thanksgiving revival Friday, Nov. 23, and Saturday, Nov. 24, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m.

The church is at 2128 Harpers Ferry Road near Dargan. 

Pastors Jeff Dissmore, Hill Bowman and Dave Wilburn will preach, and there will be singing and music nightly.

Museum to hold candlelight tour

The Washington County Rural Heritage Museum will hold a Rural Heritage Village by Candlelight tour Friday, Nov. 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the museum, which is at the Washington County Agricultural Educational Center off Sharpsburg Pike.

Tickets cost $10 per family or $5 for single admission.

The tour will start inside the museum, followed by a guided tour on foot by candlelight, visiting each of the village buildings, listening to storytellers, learning holiday customs, singing along with caroling, and warming by the hearth in the cabin.

After the tour, a wagon will bring visitors back to the museum for hot beverages and refreshments.

Attendees are encouraged to dress warmly for the event.
